Pastor Jackie Waller Russell answered the call for salvation at the age of eight at the Tarpley’s Chapel Baptist Church Dry Fork, VA. She received the Baptism of Holy Spirit after attending college and was called to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ in December 1991. She was licensed to preach in 1995, she was ordained as an Elder November 1998. She was led by God to establish Peace Christian Center Church, Merrifield, Va. in March 1997. She has faithfully pastored this church since its inception. Peace Christian Center is a covenant ministry of the Faith Deliverance Christian Fellowship, covered by the Leadership of Dr. Barbara M. Amos, Bishop, Presiding Prelate.
Family is very special and important to Pastor Russell. She is the mother of one son, Gregory Michael Russell, Jr., who was the first baptized believer of Peace Christian Center. "She is very thankful to God to have this fine man of God as her son.
Pastor Russell holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and a Minor in Reading from Virginia Union University, Richmond, Va. Graduating, Magna Cum Laude and received the Joshua Simpson Price for Academics as the number one graduate of that class in 1984. She earned a Masters of Curriculum and Instruction with emphasis on Middle School Learners from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1993 as Summa Cum Laude grad. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Mu National Honor Society. Pastor Russell has earned thirty plus hour’s post-graduate work in education towards a degree from the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech. Northern, Va. & Trinity Washington, Extension Campuses.

An astute academician, Pastor Russell has studied in the Masters of Divinity Program Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology Richmond, Va. Additionally she has a Technology Certificate from George Mason University and Gifted credentials from the Curry School of Gifted Education University of Virginia Charlottesville campus. The Trinity University of Washington, DC., is where she is continuing her studies.
Pastor Russell has successfully completed 30 years of teaching in the Arlington County Public Schools and retired July 2013 with an Outstanding Teacher Evaluation in English. She is one of eight initial founder/planters of the Gunston Middle School, Arlington, Va. In 1993 & 2012 she was nominated as Teacher of the Year for Arlington Public Schools.
Pastor Russell is committed to fulfilling the Great Commission of Jesus Christ, to share the Gospel with the world. Her favorite scriptures (Romans 10:9, John 3:16) convey her heart’s desire for all people to be saved and blessed. She has worked hard and expanded the growth and reach of Peace Christian Center with the help of faithful members of the church. The Outreach Evangelism Ministry of the church has Prayer, Bible Study lines and courses that are taught weekly. In 2019 She founded the Peace Christian Center University Bible College teaching Bible Courses to all who apply.

During the Pandemic of Covid19 starting March 2019 until present our Pastor has kept our church in a steady flow of prayer and the Word of God winning souls for the kingdom. We had to move our worship to majority on conference call and zoom worship but we have been faithful in that. For this we are very proud of leader. Pastor Russell says, "I may not be for every one but God called me for someone."
